A large-scale capital works program delivered for Melbourne Airport.
Program management across Melbourne Airport's capital works portfolio, spanning carpark, gate and terminal-precinct infrastructure delivered within a live, secure operational environment.
A major Long Term Carpark (LTCP) expansion and new terminal entry ($12M) were delivered metres from live passenger, vehicle and airside movements, with a staged construction methodology separating work zones from public areas at every phase. Daily interface meetings with airport operations, security and contractors, strengthened traffic and pedestrian management, and a real-time issue-escalation protocol delivered zero operational disruption across the program — recognised by airport management as a benchmark for live-environment delivery.
A new checked-bag quarantine and customs screening system ($500K) was installed with almost no daytime access to the work zone, since the screening line could not be taken offline during normal operating hours. The entire installation was programmed into after-hours and overnight shifts, coordinated nightly with airport operations, the Department of Agriculture and Australian Border Force, with each shift fully reinstated before morning trading resumed — recognised by airport management and the CEO as a benchmark for delivering security- and biosecurity-critical works in a live, 24-hour operational environment.
